NYMEX September Gas Settles $2.579
Natural Gas
September 2020 gas futures had a strong rally into settle today. Final close this afternoon was $2.579/MMBtu.
Today’s injection of 45 Bcf was slightly smaller than anticipated. Total gas in storage is now up to 3,420 Bcf, 15% above the 5 year average.
Electricity
The 30 day average price of real time power continues to fall, down over another $2.50/MWh from last week.
Power futures are down slightly this week after the 12 month strip briefly broke through $30/MWh a week ago.
